How Contrlr collects, uses, and protects personal information.

Contrlr Operations Pty Ltd (ABN 71 698 107 149) (Contrlr, we, us) is committed to protecting personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

What we collect

We collect information you give us when you enquire through our website: your name, work email address, company, role, website, and anything you include in your message. We also collect standard analytics data about how the site is used.

Where we send you a document through a tokenised link, such as a proposal or a pitch deck, we also collect information about how you view it: when you opened it, how long you spent, which sections you reached and for how long, scroll depth, any buttons you clicked, any PDF you downloaded, your browser user agent, the referring page, and a one-way hash of your IP address. We do not store the raw IP address. This record is linked to your name, email address, and company. The terms of service describe the same tracking.

How we use it

We use your details to respond to your enquiry, to prepare the material you asked for, and, where you have engaged with us, to keep you informed about Contrlr. Where we have sent you a document, we use the viewing record to understand whether the material was useful, and to follow up appropriately. Every marketing email includes a working unsubscribe, and suppression is permanent unless you opt back in.

Storage and disclosure

Your information is stored on servers operated by our hosting provider in Singapore. We also use service providers located overseas, including in the United States, for our customer relationship management and our email delivery. This means your personal information may be disclosed outside Australia, and by providing it to us you consent to that disclosure. We take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas recipients handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. We do not sell personal information, and we disclose it only to those providers or where the law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep the information we collect for as long as the enquiry or engagement it relates to is active, and for as long as any law requires us to keep it. When we no longer need it, we destroy it or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.

Access and correction

You may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us through the website contact form. We respond within 30 days.
